Implemented the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) from scratch using an object oriented approach.  Designed and maintained a high level multi-threaded call control API in Java.  Wrote a Java IM-like application using the SIP stack to setup and tear down chat calls providing the advanced features to setup a fully-distributed multi-party conference.

Participated in the standards activities of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to help enhance the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).  Co-authored an IETF draft describing fully-distributed multi-party conferencing services with SIP.  Implemented the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) with Java.  Attended technical bakeoffs.  Developed several generic class utilities in Java and C++.  Aided in maintaining the development environment writing shell scripts and makefile rules.
